eCommerce Growth Report: 10 Product Categories That Surged since Last Year
As the world adjusts to life during the COVID-19 pandemic and the new realities of social distancing, shoppers are moving their consumption online. To meet the demands and stay afloat, businesses continue to create an online eCommerce website.
Today, over 500,000 businesses around the world run their eCommerce websites on Wix. We analyzed their online sales during the months of April and May 2020 compared to the same months in 2019 to show the year-over-year growth of the top 10 eCommerce product categories worldwide.
All of the top 10 eCommerce product categories showed growth rates surpassing 100%, with the top reaching a 776% increase.
While growth rates in April and May varied slightly for some categories, the overall growth of all the categories reflects the changes in global consumption as more people choose to shop online than ever before.
