But with many omnichannel point-of-sale and payment competitors entering the scene, the company needed a surefire way to provide complete digital solutions, with consistent innovation.

A new eCommerce ecosystem

Moneris partnered with Wix, a leader in SMB eCommerce, to develop a multi-faceted offering. At the core is “Moneris Online,” which allows customers to leverage design experts to create their professional website or to continue building on their own. With several packages and pricing plans, clients can choose the best option for their needs. Moneris even offers merchants a custom 30-day trial so they can try before they buy.

 

With a merchant account, Moneris’ customers can customize their website, manage online commerce and utilize marketing and growth tools, directly through Wix’s platform. Merchants can take advantage of all of Wix’s eCommerce capabilities including bookings for services, invoicing, online ordering, events and ticket sales, hotel reservation acceptance and more. 

 

“The Wix partnership allows us to provide the level of world-class service Canadian businesses need today,” says Tabachnick.

 

As part of the tailored Wix partnership, Moneris customers receive an enabled online shop with Moneris pre-connected as the payment processor. This helps Moneris drive adoption while leveraging Wix’s eCommerce platform and brand reputation to increase customer retention and GPV.


As Crawford puts it, “We're taking the strong Moneris brand and layering the strong Wix brand on top. It really does become ‘1+1=3’. The power of these two brands together brings something new and impactful to the table.

A future of innovation

With a successful core offering, the Moneris-Wix partnership is expanding to include more channels and products that enable merchant success. And with monthly web builder sales having nearly doubled and merchant GPV increasing as well, things are moving steadily in the right direction.
