When we talk about space, we talk about what isn’t, about the void existing in between things. It’s the gap between an image and a piece of text, the pause between one sound and another. This space doesn’t carry its own meaning, but without it, the aesthetical structure will collapse, the balance will be interrupted, and the work will simply no longer be.

In the tracks I’ve collected in this playlist, this space has a powerful presence. In some songs, you can feel the absence of what you would have expected to be there. This absence is simultaneously surprising, curious, and beautiful.
