Hey, it's Henry from the Wick Studio team. I'm going to show you how to add a members area to a site in Wick Studio. Adding a member's area to your clients site can help turn visitors into loyal customers.
When you add one, every member will get their own account where they can see their information and manage their activity.
Members can check on their order status or reschedule a session they've booked. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to add a members area to a site. Choose which tabs to display. Add exclusive content for members and how to manage those members.
Some templates in apps like stores, forum and pricing plans already have the members area up added. So if you see the member page in your page's panel, the members area is already installed. But if you still need to add the members area, click up market and search for Wick's members area.
Once it's set up, you'll see this member page starting with this account tab. If your member's area was installed as part of another app, you might see other tabs here, like my wallet and my orders. Choose which tabs you'll show in the member menu by going to manage and navigate depending on the capabilities your client wants their members to have.
Then you'll be able to add more tabs for things like personalized member profile pages, blog posts, likes and comments and upcoming bookings depending on the other apps associated with your member's area. Back in the menu manager, you can reorder tabs, rename them or remove them from the menu. To personalize any of these tabs, open it up and go to settings.
Then adjust the text layout or any other design option.
On top of adding prebuilt tabs, you can create custom pages from scratch based on the content your client wants to show to their members. These are blank pages that can be customized for any kind of content like how to instructions, podcasts and forms.
By default, Member pages are member restricted, but they can be even more exclusive. So only members with a specific role or pricing plan can access them.
To add a private member page. Click Pages. Click. Add new page here at the bottom. Choose Add under member page. Then go to more actions and settings. To limit the page to specific roles or pricing plans, click the permissions tab and choose to allow access to all members or only selected members. Then, if your client only wants to give specific members access, change the roles here, or create custom roles for different member types and provide access to specific groups of members in the page.
Permissions menu. Once you create a custom page, it'll automatically be added to the login bar menu.
Once you make the members area life, visitors can sign up by clicking the login bar to set up an approval process so that only approved members can join your client site. Head to Settings Site Member settings and sign up and log in security.
Then restrict membership to only those you approve and add additional layers of security like email confirmation and reCAPTCHA to view and manage the member list. Head over to the site's dashboard, then contacts and site members. From here you can view current members or move to this tab to grant or deny access to anyone waiting for approval. And under the next two tabs you'll see members who've been reported or blocked.
And that's it. You're ready to add and manage a members area in Wix studio. Head over to the Wix Studio Academy for more lessons and tutorials. Until next time.
