Hey, Kayla here from the Wix Studio team. Let’s go over how to update your Editor X site to Wix Studio.
So your live site won’t be affected. So, here’s a live site, built in Editor X by an agency.
It uses a bunch of CSS Grids…
…a stack…
… a flexbox…
…and most of the other elements you’d expect to see on a responsive site.
When you update your site to Wix Studio:
Your live site remains available to visitors at the same domain
Your premium plan stays active in the new editor
Your dashboard and site settings will be saved; and
Other site components will stay the same.
Basically, you get a brand new Workspace, designed with you in mind
…and the Wix Studio Editor which includes more efficient design tools like Section Grid…
…Responsive AI, and…
…no-code interactions…
…giving you total creative freedom.
Plus, in Studio, you can choose to use the same measurements from Editor X…
…or use the out-of-the-box responsive behaviors in Wix Studio.
Let’s start.
If your site is ready to be updated to Studio, you’ll see this popup in the Editor.
Or you can always click on this banner.
Let’s start the process.
You’ll see a few things to keep in mind before the update— they’ll be different depending on your site.
When you’re ready, just click Update to Wix Studio.
The entire update will take up to 3 minutes.
While it’s underway, we’re saving your site, configuring a new interface and adding the final touches.
And your site is updated!
You’ll notice that all your elements and sections will still be set to the same measurements as in Editor X.
It still uses a bunch of CSS Grids…
…a stack…
…a flexbox…
…and all the other elements we had on the Editor X site.
To move to the new responsive behavior settings, head here and click on view. You can set the sizing preferences per element or keep the advanced sizing as is.
You can even restore your site to an earlier version and it will remain in the Wix Studio Editor.
