Hello,
I have a database on my website - for example www.natsmith.co/smm-form
and I wanted to know if there is a way that people have to enter a valid email address.
When I send out shout outs I get quite a few emails that do not deliver, and this morning when going to create a shout out I saw it was deactivated by Wix because it said I had to too many invalid email addresses.
I want to prevent this and was wondering if anyone knew how to implement this into my database, so if someone enters an incorrect email they are unable to submit a form
Hi nat,
To answer your case, we need a little more information.
If you have a form at which users can enter an email address, you can do a few things
1. set the input type to email. This gives some level of validation based on the browser in use.
2. use the onCustomValidation event to have custom email validation logic.
Wait a sec, you are using shoutout? So I guess you are not using the wix code database, but rather the contacts application? If so, you may need another tool to resolve this.
Hi Nat,
Text boxes feature a built-in email validation.
To make the change: Click the email text box > Settings > change the type from 'Text' to 'Email'.
