Hi there,
On my Wix website, I have a repeater that is connected to a dataset. I also have a search bar. With the much appreciative help of J. D., I've managed to link the repeater, the dataset, and the search bar together using Wix code so that when a user types a certain number of keywords into the search bar, a certain number of projects appear based on the keywords that have been typed. The projects that appear are sorted alphabetically and by relevance - (the projects that have the most keywords that have been typed appear first followed by the projects that have a lesser amount of keywords that have been typed). This is exactly what I want on my webpage, and I don't want to change anything here.
I was hoping to be able to click on one of the projects that appear and be directed to a separate page that outlines the specifics of that project. I know that there is a feature to do this in Wix - you simply attach a link to the content. However, I've noticed that this cannot be done if you use a repeater because everything within the repeater is grouped. All of the textboxes have the same coded title and all of the images have the same coded title, and, respectively, they all lead to the same page even though I've attached a different link to each of them. I cannot get rid of the repeater because it's essential to what I'm trying to do: have a functional search bar that pulls up results based on keywords typed. Without altering what I've already done, is there a way to change this feature of a repeater, with or without wix code? I was hoping to make each element within a repeater distinct (as in the textboxes, images etc).
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.
If you use onitemReady():
https://www.wix.com/corvid/reference/$w.Repeater.html#onItemReady
Then inside it you can attach different links to each repeater item.
Just use:
$item("#button1").link = itemData["my-link"]; //instead of my-link use your collection field key $item("#button1").target = "_self";
