I have had this problem for a couple of days, and it is completely stalling my work. My client is waiting for an answer on my part, and I don't have much to give him.
When creating tables in Wix and connecting an image to a collection, the image that appears in the table will keep its proportion, not be cropped. It is simply downscaled to fit a frame, and white border is added when the format of the image does not fit the frame for it. This is shown below.

I need to achieve the same thing in a repeater. However, I haven't managed to do so. It shows like seen below, or not at all when using galleries and using the "fit" option.
