Hi guys! Complete novice losing my mind trying to structure my datasets/dynamic pages to display in the way I need/intended to. Open to any and all suggestions but the simpler the better :)
Basically: Imagine I gave a group of students a series of exams each scored between 1-7. I have created a table ("studentscores") with a field for the students name and each test score: eg english, french, japanese, geometry, physics, trigonometry etc.... I also setup calculated fields to group the scores for the subjects, like so: Languages (English+French+Japanese scores), Maths (geometry+physics+trig) etc..
So currently all that data for each student is in one row. I've created a dynamic page (so each student sees their own scores only) but I'm stuck finding the best way to display the data in a list where it ranks their best subject group from highest score to lowest. Displaying the data unsorted is no issue but I'd really like to be able to sort the row data. Any suggestions would be awesome!
(I did setup another dataset ("SubjectGroups) with fields: "studentname", "Subjectgroup", "description", "image" & "Score" coz I thought if i could pull the "score" data from the other table I could filter the results by "studentname", sort them highest to lowest based on "score", and include the other data (image and description) using repeaters (maybe?) but I don't know the code to get the score from the ("studentscores") table to the ("subjectgroups") table based on the item.id. Am I on the right track with this method?)
