I have a database collection that is a set of reports where the report can be a URL to a webpage or to an uploaded PDF (a Wix document). The problem is that if I set the field type for the reportURL to URL, Wix flags its own URL format to an uploaded document as an error (not a valid URL depite that clicking on it goes tot he uploaded doc). If I set the field type to TEXT, then I can have URLs to the web or to a local Wix document, but Wix then selecting the field as a link destination (since it's no longer of type URL) - for example, if I display the record as a table and want the user to click on the row to be redirected to the report URL.
Is there any way around this? Ideally, this is a feature request for Wix to include its own URLs as valid for field of type URL.
Thanks! That's my current workaround, but it's very awkward, since I want to link the report table row, so clicking on it redirects the browser to the URL (which I can't do if it's in two different fields) - at least not via the Wix interface.
The Wix Url formats is not actually used as urls in that sense for than it's a path to a image, file and so on. I would do two fields, one for wix formats and one for others and in your repeater or what you use check which one has a valid value and use that.
