Hi folks,
I'm very new to using Wix code and coding in general so please be gentle with me.
I have a store on my Wix site and I sell unique handmade items. I have a problem with the way the variants work, and am unable to solve it using the standard Wix Store settings. Let me explain. Say I have one unique handmade pendant, but want to offer it on a variety of chain lengths. I need to price these chain lengths differently, so must select 'Manage pricing and inventory for variants' in my store listing page, then set a quantity of at least one for each chain length if it is to be available to purchase. The problem is, I only have one pendant even though I have many chains, so if somebody buys the pendant on a short chain, it will still show as in stock on a long chain, even though the only pendant I have has sold.
Is there a way to use Wix code to override this and set the inventory for the item, even though I have set different prices for each of the variants?
Thanks for reading and huge thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.
Jane
Maybe the solution to this problem it is to use Bundled Products, so you would have them added together to the cart as a bundle and both inventories would be fulfilled. WIX Stores Bundle

Did you ever figure out a way around this? I ask because I am having a similar issue. We sell rocks - each rock is unique and there is only 1 available of each rock. However,... we also offer engraving with fonts and sizes for an additional cost. The issue is that I cannot track the single rocks in the inventory as it is saying there is 1 in every font and a font color....
Although I am not familiar with the Wix Store inventory, I can suggest a workaround. List the pendant with the price for the shortest chain and then have upgrade prices for that pendant for the various longer chain length options.
